Elsina Green

Overshot weave.

Weaver: Elsina Josephine Green Motlow, born 1835 in Moore County, TN.

She was the oldest of fourteen children, endured the Civil War and was a prolific weaver. This coverlet woven mid 1800s was woven with weaving motifs of nine chariot wheels and table in wool colors of red and brown on a natural off white background; we give her all the credit by calling it Elsina Green.
